I consider Tekken 6 to be the best Tekken so far, its fast paced, has lots of characters with different fighting styles, and a deep fighting game overall that takes skill to play, and not just button mash your way to victory. Stage selection is decent, featuring 2 secret stages, and some with destructible walls. A better soundtrack could have definitely been a good idea, since there is only one awesome track.
On the other side I'll be talking about the more bad qualities of Tekken 6, since I think they need to be brought to light. The story mode is pretty weak, its the usual stuff of just one cut-scene at the end of standard mode. But the new campaign mode doesn't really bring anything new and exciting. Its just a typical beat 'em up with awkward controls and weak dialogues.
For some reason co-op is not available offline, and online its not a real coop campaign. Many levels are absent and there is no story, so you cannot advance the campaign with coop, only replay some of the levels with your friend online and farm money.
Money is used to buy outfits and items for your character to wear, it gives some bonuses for the campaign but not in other modes. Character customization is really poor, you can buy about 10 different items that are specific for each character, and those come in a bout 30 different colors, so the customization is really limited.
Another thing that I don't like is that the 2nd player/controller (offline speaking) cannot save or access any of the customized outfits, and even control layouts, so each time you connect another controller to play versus offline you will have to configure your controls if you use a custom setup and play with the normal outfits.
Also there are a few of brand new fighters introduced, and they seems slightly more faster and stronger, with many unpredictable spinning moves, so mastering them first is a good idea. Another new feature is the bound system, if you manage to send your opponent flying to the ground he will slightly bounce off in the air giving you an opportunity to strike again and chain longer combos. That can be both a good thing and a bad thing. Often while playing online you might come across players that seem to abuse these new tricks and will start a combo by sending you in the air and then pummeling you to death with one combo thanks to the bound feature.
There seems to be a lot of bad things about Tekken 6, but if you can look past all these issues, its a really great fighting game with plenty unique fighters and moves to learn. And many of these issues shouldn't bother you once you learn to play and bring your skill online or play with friends.
